In the photo above you'll see Stevie Mack and Nancy Walkup, seminar leaders, with the wonderful family of Augustin Prudencio, who work together to carve and paint amazing, imaginative sculptures from wood. Here we are at their booth in the market, but they came to our seminar and demonstrated how they work for us. We hope to see them again at the market this coming year.
One of the many great things about being at the market is the opportunity to meet and talk with artists from around the world, always the best of the best! Many of the artists work in their booths and are happy to answer questions or have their picture taken with you. And everyone proudly wears their native dress.
All of the artists are juried and many come back each year. The artists take home 90% of the amount of money they sell, often to benefit an entire village or cooperative. Many of these artists had no way to make a living until the market was developed. I hope that we can share it with you. Have questions? You can call me at 940-56-3954. (And don't forget our other offering, Celebrating Pueblo Indian Art and Culture, July 3-9).
Thanks.I have really enjoy and got a lot of information about finest artists and artisans
