American Brides: Inspiration and Ingenuity

1844

These images are from an exhibit, American Brides: Inspiration and Ingenuity, on display at the Patterson-Appleton Center for the Visual Arts in Denton, Texas, June 28-October 24. The exhibit explores ideas about bridal fashion worn specifically for the wedding ceremony.

I really like the wigs made from paper. The exhibition is so beautiful and dramatic.

My good friend Myra Walker curated the show and she included both of our (first) wedding dresses (1974 and 1972). Mine is the purple one.

1992

Only two days left, go to see it while you can.
