After giving six presentations (Celebrating the Mexican Days of the Dead, Bridging the Curriculum through Art, Pride in Place and three others at the Davis Publications booth) at TAEA Galveston, I was eager to stop in Houston on the way home at two outsider art sites I have always wanted to visit. The first of these was Smither Park, an ongoing, collaborative mosaic and found object park and art center still in process. There are several pavilions for performances and back walls that enclose the park.
