Join SchoolArts Magazine and CRIZMAC Art & Cultural Materials for two amazing travel opportunities in 2016! This past summer, a terrific group of educators and others from all over the country attended our seminars in Oaxaca, Mexico, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Together we met incredible artists, attended presentations, enjoyed museum visits, and visited artists in their workshops and homes.
In 2016, we will be offering two different experiences: Folk Art and Culture of Oaxaca, Mexico, and Tres Culturas: Exploring the Artistic Spirit of Santa Fe.

The spirit of New Mexico may best be captured through the senses—the distinctive smell of wet earth from a storm, the scent of burning piƱon, the incredibly turquoise sky, and the rough organic texture of rounded adobe forms. This spirit finds expression in a unique way of life created from the contributions of three cultures: Pueblo Indian, Hispanic, and Anglo. Tres Culturas is designed to help travelers explore and understand the diversity of New Mexico’s artistic heritage from ancient times to the present. Highlights include a tour of Georgia O’Keeffe’s home in Abiquiu, a celebration at a living history museum, in-person views of petroglyphs, a visit to Taos Pueblo (also designated a UNESCO World Heritage site), a visit to Roxanne Swentzell’s Tower Gallery, and much more.
